CharIN's first Asia members’ Seminar was held in Hong Kong from September 25th to 27th

Over 80 members from different EV related industries joined us to exchange their knowledge, mingle with likeminded people & meet up with potential partners.

This seminar was able to provide a platform to twenty speakers to share the latest know-how on a broad range of subjects from the hottest technical development on EV-Charging to the differences in customer expectations in various Asian markets. Topics of discussion touched market oriented subjects such as the nascent but fast moving EV developments in India, Thai Government’s involvement to facilitate EV/EVSE investments for OEM manufacturers, the booming Chinese EV/EVSE market & what this means for CCS. But also, ample critical technical subjects were discussed: HPC up to 500kW, circumventing security concerns with encryption & data authentication using PLC, interoperability & conformity testing leading the way for a well-accepted global standard, V2G power transfer, PLC Chip availability, etc. All fascinating themes eagerly debated by our members.

From the reaction of the attendees we could feel that it has enriched the CCS community & given CharIN members new insights of what the future holds for the EV society with CCS at its core. For some in the attendance much of the information was completely new, for others the thought provoking ideas & visions of and for future applications of CCS were truly inspirational.

We dare to say that his seminar has empowered over eighty CharIN ambassadors to promote CCS in their respective countries & markets. Our feeling is that most of the attendees were keen to know when the next session will be held in 2018.
