The working group session was co-chaired by Mr. Viswajit Sahay (MoHI) and Ms. Birgitta Worringen (BMVI).
The discussion was organized in cooperation with VDA, SIAM and ACMA industry bodies and officials from the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MoHI), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP). Testing agencies including ARAI and ICAT as well as the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDU) joined German industry and government officials for the discussion.
One of the major topics of discussion was on the collaboration in the domain of e-mobility. Pravin Agrawal, Director at MoHI made a presentation on the electric vehicles policies and incentives in India. This was followed by a presentation on the Combined Charging System (CCS) by Sivam Sabesan, Managing Director India, CharIN e.V.
The co-chairs closed the session after a long, fruitful discussion on various topics impacting the Indian automotive industry. The next meeting of the Co-Chairs will be held alongside the IAA in Frankfurt in September 2018. The CharIN e.V. will be honoured to deliver further input in the ongoing discussions of the Indio German Working Group.
