The Mobility House joins the Charging Interface Initiative e.V.

The Mobility House announced it has joined the international association The Charging Interface Initiative e. V. (CharIn). The energy solution provider will take a key role in the sustainable integration of car batteries into the power grid – also known as Vehicle-to-Grid.

The CharIN association was founded by leading experts of the automotive and electric mobility industries including Audi, BMW, Daimler, Mennekes, Opel, Phoenix Contact, Porsche, TÜV SÜD and Volkswagen. Together they develop and establish the Combined Charging System (CCS) as a globally accepted charging standard.

Based in Munich, The Mobility House is a young and dynamic technology company committed to promoting the energy transition towards renewables. By developing and providing innovative charging and energy storage solutions The Mobility House helps electric mobility achieve its breakthrough – driven by their core values of innovation, sustainability and openness. Founded in 2009 and collaborating with all leading automobile manufacturers worldwide, the company calls a broad expert knowledge its own.

The link between the three business areas of The Mobility House – Charging Solutions, Battery Storage and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) – is the electric car battery. Batteries of electric cars will play an integral role in the sustainable energy management of the future. They will help to stabilize the power grid with respect to the increasing share of renewable energy. The implementation of innovative software enables controlled and bidirectional charging of electric cars in respond to power supply and demand. As a result, peak demands can be shaved, the grid instability reduced and the grid expansion can be reduced/prevented.

The Mobility House also tackles the issue of re-purposing used car batteries by aggregating them to powerful battery storage systems for primary control. This expertise makes The Mobility House the partner of choice in several second life battery projects, e. g. the realization of a four Megawatt hours back-up-power battery storage system in the Amsterdam ArenA (Partners: Nissan, Eaton) or the operation of the world’s largest 2nd-use battery storage in Lünen (Partners: Daimler, Getec, Remondis), Germany.
