Allego joins Charin Association - CCS fastcharging standard needed for EV market

Berlin, 05/12/2016 – Allego, the provider of charging solutions for electric vehicles announced today to join the Charin Association. As one of the leading charge point operators in Europe, Allego wants to promote the further development of the CCS fastcharging standard.

By joining the Charin-Association, Allego will share insights into the experience and requirements of professionally operating more than 120 CCS-compatible fastchargers in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium today and a network of around 350 DC-fastchargers by end of 2016. As the further development towards higher charging power and speed for electric vehicles will take place over the next years, the upgrade of the CCS-standard is a prerequisite for these next steps.

In order to accelerate clean electric mobility, a reliable, open and fast charging network is necessary. Allego wants to actively support this development and promote an open, interoperable network to enable zero-emission mobility in all markets.

Anja van Niersen, CEO of Allego “We are happy to join the Charin Association. The market for e-driving is professionalizing quickly and more and more parties recognize the need for an open, interoperable charging network in order to get sustainable driving more widely accepted. For the e-driver, it is essential that they can charge everywhere and anytime they want. Clean e-mobility is needed to accelerate zero emission environments in which people live. If we collaborate on standards like CCS together we can make sustainable driving more accessible.”
