In the mobility and transportation industry, TÜV NORD and the engineering behind ensure safety and security. At TÜV NORD stations periodical technical inspections (PTIs) are performed towards different vehicle categories. Next to the field of transportation and mobility, TÜV NORD also provides services in the following industries: Energy and energy technology, buildings and real estate, health and occupational safety, industry and IT, environment and aerospace.


The TÜV NORD brand represents safety, reliability and neutrality globally for more than 150 years with engineering services at its best. As an accredited, independent provider of engineering services in the automotive sector, TÜV NORD and its Institute for Vehicle Technology and Mobility (IFM) deliver numerous services in the homologation and approval sector. The Institute is also a dedicated Technical Service in charge of testing automotive systems and components in its own labs on compliance with the relevant EC and UNECE test standards. The IFM submits the test documentation reports together with the related Manufacturer Documents to the relevant authority. This is the typical allocation process to gain the formal and valuable Type Approval Certificate. TÜV NORD is determined to support in defining international requirements and standards.


As a new core member of the CharIN association, we intent to collaborate with partners and all parties involved in order to support the standardization and certification of the Combined Charging System (CCS). We see the CharIN collaboration as a great opportunity to create uniform guidelines that will make it possible to establish electric mobility on the market on a large scale in the near future.
