Created in February 2014, VEDECOM is an Institute for Energy Transition (ITE) that was established as part of the French government’s investment for the future plan with the aim of becoming a leading player in terms of innovation, research, and training. It is based on an unprecedented collaboration between industries of the automotive sector, infrastructure and services operators in the mobility eco-system, academic research institutions, and local communities.
Our ITE is becoming a Centre of Excellence whose main purpose is research and development in the fields of electrified vehicles, autonomous and connected cars, in addition to new infrastructure and services for shared mobility and energy.
As part of its research programs the Institute is involved in several innovative charging systems projects one being the combined charging system (CCS). The aim of VEDECOM by joining the CharIN e.V. association is to contribute to the ongoing development of the CCS technology, to study the interoperability, and to bring about changes to standards at European and International levels.
