We are looking forward to organizing a CharIN Tuesday series again in 2021. Dates and topics will be published soon. Stay tuned!
CharIN Tuesday will be extended to other regions of the world!
After a successful series of virtual events in North America, the CharIN Tuesday will also come to Europe and Asia: A series of conference will span over the next months, each sequence covering one hot topic the CharIN alliance is currently dealing with. And, we will directly connect to the last discussion of the NA series.
Meanwhile the attendance to the virtual event is free of charge for everybody, recordings and presentations will be offered for a fee with a special discount for CharIN members.
We look forward to welcoming a huge audience interested in getting involved in exciting discussions about CharIN`s efforts to adopt e-mobility, and to further push the development of the required eco-system based on the Combined Charging System (CCS) and ISO/IEC 15118.
CharIN Tuesday GLOBAL: Part 1 | CharIN e.V. - global, cross industry and holistic
12/01/2020 | 02:30 pm - 04:00 pm (CET)
In the last years, the CharIN e.V. has developed to a well established international industry association supporting the Combined Charging System as the charging standard for electric vehicles. The efforts of its members from the whole value chain to jointly define requirements for charging standards, further develope technologies and promote activities around customer comfort of charging are not only worth for the typical and well known stakeholders of the EV industry, but more and more also attract new industries to become a part of the CharIN community.
During this CharIN Tuesday session, the extended scope of CharIN with its broad activities and membership benefits for various industries will be presented. New members will explain their motivation, expectation and contribution to international electrification alliances like CharIN and the EV sector. Which new opportunities and business models may arise with further players in the sector? Let us discuss this together on this virtual conference!
CharIN Tuesday GLOBAL: Part 2 | MCS – The Megawatt Charging System
- Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in North America at 05:00 – 07:30 pm (PST) | 08:00 – 09:30 pm (EST)
- Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Europe and Asia at 02:00 - 03:30 am (CET) | 06:30 – 08:00 am (IST) | 09:00 – 10:30 am (HKT)
The Megawatt Charging System (MCS) working group was founded in spring 2018 by different players of the respective industry as a Task Force with the common goal to collect technical requirements and to define a common specification for a global megawatt charging system (MCS), the future plug connector for charging electric commercial vehicles.
The standardization efforts of the group led by Rustam Kocher, E-Mobility Ecosystem lead for utility engagement at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), resulted in a first plug validation test event in fall 2020 to ensure the compatibility of connectors and inlet hardware from different manufacturers.
During the CharIN Tuesday Global, Rustam will elaborate on the challenges of the group´s work and, together with a panel of MCS experts, shed a light on next steps and perspectives of the plug connector. This session is scheduled at a time that will allow especially people from India and Asia to dial in and to virtually meet with Rustam and his panelists from the US West Coast to exchange on the subject and to ask questions.
CharIN Tuesday GLOBAL: Part 3 | Customer Journey - Ensuring Reliable Charging
12/15/2020 | 10:00 am – 11:30 am (CET)
For a further acceptance of electromobility in the mobility market, a reliable, area-wide infrastructure and easy paying for charging are only two of many customer comfort points which play an important role. In this session of the CharIN Tuesday global, we will dive deeper into experiences of charging and demonstrate charging features like Plug and Charge in a customer journey. You will see that Plug and Charge based on ISO15118 is already implemented in first products, available in the market and ready for mass market adoption.
